Woman and mother of a four year old child, future was not going to be easy and she knew it. But Ruth Bader Ginsburg is not the kind of woman that stand men defeating her. And she proved it.
She had to learn from a very young age the setbacks women had to overcome just because of their gender. Nonetheless, she never gave up the fight for women´s rights.
Her strength and valour inspired a generation.
First in every class she attended to, including Cornell University, Harvard and Columbia.
Groundbreaking in Supreme Court decisions, such as legalizing same-sex marriage, promoting a right for women to choose to have an abortion, voting against death sentence, etc.
Second woman in the history of the US to serve on the court.
Yet she was not alone in this path towards gender equality. His husband and life-partner Martin D. Ginsburg was her biggest fan and supporter. Ruth always described him as "the first man I ever knew who cared that I had a brain". If that is not true love I do not know what is.
She always sought justice for all of us. She stood for love. She showed that our time has come and we are loath to tolerate any trace of discrimination.
Rest in peace Ruth and be sure what you did was worth it. We will forever be grateful.
And just in case you want to inform yourselves a little more about her career and what she accomplished. I will embed the trailer of her biopic as well as some of her most iconic speeches. Really illustrative and empowering.
