Despite what many people may think, they are many different types of feminism.
We cannot apply how women and men fight for equality in all the countries indiscriminately.
There are obviously some commun terms, such as the need for women to be given the same opportunities in every outlook, either educational or social.
As I am more familiar with feminism in Spain, I might stick to this place.
I feel really proud of how my country has progressed trough the years in the battle for women rights. We have been a ground-breaking country in many aspects, such as 8M protest or introduction of certain laws promoting gender equality.
Yet we still have a long way ahead. There are still girls, including myself, fearing being raped in their way home, enterprises where gender is more important than aptitud or mothers being fired for getting pregnant.
I´m aware of how hard the situation for women is in developing countries, I know we are complaining about a society they would dream of living in.
But that is not a reason to quit.
This is the era of equality; of denouncing realities that have been muted and hidden and we need to keep fighting for what belongs to us, here, in Spain and anywhere.
